Louise Hancock is Media officer for Oxfam based in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she works mainly on protection, humanitarian, aid effectiveness and peacebuilding issues. She holds an MSc in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and a BA in English and Philosophy from Bristol University. Previously she worked as a journalist in both London and New York. Her family has lived in the Middle East for 20 years and she has traveled widely in the region. This firsthand experience of poverty and conflict led to a decision to change career and work for international aid agencies.
