Betancourt leads off UN terror victim panel

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — At the U.N.'s first symposium for terror victims Tuesday, Naomi Monchari Kerongo's tears didn't stop her trancelike recitation of the awful things she saw that day in Kenya, 10 years ago.

Peacekeepers Staying in Darfur

(AP) The U.N. Security Council has approved another year of peacekeeping in Sudan's Darfur region despite sharp divisions over genocide charges against the Sudanese president. The United States supports the mission but abstained from the vote.
