The Burning Question

by Katharine Mieszkowski, Salon.com, USA - The California inferno has ignited the long-smoldering debate over whether we have brought Mother Nature's revenge upon ourselves.

Below is a link to an article written by Mike Davis for Sierra Magazine in 1994:

10 years later he wrote another article after fires burned Southern California:

Because the developers and landowners of Southern California don't listen to the environmental impact reports, because the developers and landowners don't get charged for adequate fire protection, we can look forward to another article, saying exactly the same thing in another 10 years.

This is an issue for California's governor to sink his teeth into. Perhaps his wife would be a good starting point. I hope The WIP has a good long list of politicos and staff to e-mail important stories to them.

Wouldn't it be more effective for The WIP readers to email the important stories to "politicos and staff?" I really appreciate the news service The WIP is providing and often feel "if only" our elected officials were reading this too. So, let's start. Email those on your long list.
