I understand your point of view which is totally valid. Education cannot be equated with being literate. It is also a sad fact that national degrees do not get as much weightage as international ones. What is however important to note is that education policies need to be revamped so that an artificial sense of competition is removed and more students catering to the Indian/Intl environment get admissions in diverse fields. Of course changes are always gradual and there is much to learn from foreign systems as well. A combination of best factors of various systems can be achieved through a comprehensice engagement in the formulation and implementation of an efficient system. The idea should also be to recruit the best talent and eductaion as a sector in itself must be made an attractive and incentivized career/growth option.
